The Basic RiderCourse runs about 16 hours, made up of a 5-hour online eCourse and 11 hours of on-cycle training over two days: low-risk familiarisation exercises on day one, skills practice and a final evaluation on day two. WYDOT provides the motorcycles and helmets and trains its own instructors to Motorcycle Safety Foundation RiderCoach certification. Tuition is $50 for a Wyoming resident and $150 for a non-resident, plus a service fee. A rider must be at least 15 on the day of the course; a student under 18 needs a parental permission form signed in front of the coaches.
