RSI's Entry Level Motorcycle Safety Course runs approximately 20 hours: 7 hours of classroom instruction and 13 hours of riding exercises in a controlled environment, though the exact length depends on the provider. RSI also offers an advanced-skills training course and a three-wheel motorcycle entry-level course, neither of which is required for the base endorsement.
Motorcycle safety courses in Indiana are administered by Ride Safe Indiana providers, each of which sets its own schedule and course fee; RideSafeIndiana.com lists current providers and prices rather than the BMV publishing one. Training motorcycles are supplied; a rider should bring their own DOT-compliant helmet, since only some providers loan one. Graduation results are submitted to the BMV electronically, and the graduate may then add the endorsement online at myBMV.com without a branch visit for either test.

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation's Basic RiderCourse is designed for beginning riders aged 16 and up, pairing about five hours of classroom or online learning with about ten hours of on-motorcycle training, and it ends in a written knowledge test and a rider skills test.
